The Hindi Film Industry, commonly known as Bollywood is the world’s biggest motion picture producing industry. In fact, it produces more movies than Hollywood itself. The first movie that was made in India was released in the year 1913 and was made by Dadasaheb Phalke. A lot of movies started being produced after that. But until the 30s the movies were mostly without sound and usually had subtitles to go with the video. But all of that changed in 1931 when Alam Ara, India’s first sound film was released, what was different was that it didn’t just have actual dialogues, the movie also had songs. And ever since then, there has been no looking back. Music has now become an integral part of our movies, especially Bollywood. Every year tonnes of music composers and singers wow us with so many soundtracks and in the end we are all spoilt for choices. 2019 was no less in terms of music. We thoroughly enjoyed so many songs this year and some of them are definitely here to stay. We decided to pick 4 songs that we thought were the best of 2019.
- Bekhayali: When Kabir Singh released, the movie had its fair share of controversy. Some praised the movie calling it one of the best movies of the year while some said the movie wasn’t sending the right message to the youth. But there was one thing that everybody agreed upon, which was, this was one of the best soundtracks of the year. Bekhayali was the highlight of the entire soundtrack and will be remembered for a long time.
- Apna Time Aayega: This movie brought the worlds of Hip Hop and Bollywood together. Gully Boy was based on the life of a regular guy who aspired to become a famous rapper and fulfilled his dream. The vocals of the song were by Divine and Ranveer Singh himself, and ever since the release of this song it has almost become an anthem for the youth.
- Ve Maahi: From the soundtrack of the movie Kesari, this is the only romantic track in the movie and it is also one of the highlights of the movie. Composed by Tanishk Bagchi and sung by Arijit Singh and Asees Kaur, this was one of the most heard songs of the year. To listen to this new Hindi song, download it today.
- O Saki Saki: Just when you thought we were done remaking and bettering item songs from 2000s, in came this one. From the soundtrack of the movie Batla House, this party song reached new heights in terms of popularity. Sung by Tulsi Kumar, it managed to gain millions of views in a very short period of time. And this new Bollywood song definitely deserves a spot on your party playlist.
